Любопытно, что само появление стульев в отеле было довольно значительным событием для Японии, жители которой традиционно сидели на полу, пользуясь лишь дзабутонами (специальными подушками для сидения), и свидетельствует о том, что не только Райт находился под впечатлением от японской культуры, но и японская культура доверилась Райту, взяв курс на вестернизацию.

Since chairs were then pretty much unheard of in Japan whose people traditionally preferred to sit on the floor with or without a
zabuton (a cushion for sitting), the use of this chair at the hotel indicates that Wright’s and his clients’ interest in each other’s cultures was reciprocal and that the Japanese culture placed its trust in Wright with its decision to westernize.
As usual, anyone willing is welcome to guess the name Wright gave his chair.
