The volley of the German Dora gun

"Dora" is a unique super-heavy railroad artillery gun of the German army. It was developed by Krupp (Germany) in the late 1930s. The gun was used during the storming of Sevastopol in 1942.

After World War I, the development of German artillery was restricted by the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles. Germany was forbidden to have guns over 150 mm in caliber, as well as any anti-tank and anti-aircraft guns. Therefore, according to the leaders of Nazi Germany, building a powerful and large-caliber artillery was a matter of prestige.

An American climbed a rope over Niagara Falls.

Nick Wallenda, a famous American tightrope walker, walked over Niagara Falls on a rope stretched more than 50 meters high. One end of the rope was anchored in the United States and the other in Canada. The ropewalker had to cross a distance of 550 meters over the raging waters.

It took him almost half an hour. Authorities in both countries allowed the hereditary tightrope walker, who has made the Guinness Book of World Records six times, to break the ban on similar stunts over Niagara Falls. Nick Wallenda thus became the first man in 128 years to cross the falls in such a risky way.

Chief John Smith

Chief John Smith (d. February 6, 1922; also known as Gaa-binagwiiyaas, "one whose flesh peels off") was a Chippewa Indian who lived in Cass Lake, Minnesota, and was considered a long-lived man: at the time of his death, he was reportedly 137 years old.

John Smith's exact age at the time of his death is not conclusively known. Thus, the federal commissioner of Indian registration, Ranson Powell, claimed that John's appearance "was the result of the disease that made him so, not his age." John Smith was married eight times, however, except for an adopted boy named Tom, there were no children.

The Carpen battery

It is an uninterrupted and autonomous power source, which works for more than 70 years without interruption and recharging. Such a mini-perpetual motion machine with 1 volt of power.

The question arises - if such an uninterrupted and autonomous power supply really exists and is not somewhere, but in a museum, then why are not crowds of visitors and journalists "swarming" near it? Not to mention the scientists, who should first of all be interested in this truly epoch-making discovery. The museum management explains everything simply - the invention cannot be exhibited and demonstrated to scientists and visitors, because the museum has no money to ensure the proper protection of such a truly invaluable piece of science.
