On the Perseverance rover's hull is a plaque with NASA's Mars rovers on it

All of them have been to the surface of the Red Planet and are arranged from left to right in chronological order: Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity, Curiosity and Perseverance.

What is the minimal size of black holes?

The mass of a black hole formed by the collapse of a larger star is limited by the Oppenheimer-Volkoff limit. Its exact value is not known, as it depends on many poorly understood parameters. In general, this limit lies between 2.14 and 2.17 solar masses.

All stars lighter than 2.14 solar masses are definitely not black holes. The highly probable BH candidates known today have significantly higher masses, from 6 solar masses and higher.

For primary (small) black holes the lower value is the Planck mass: 2.176⋅10^(-8) kg. But primary black holes are hypothetical objects and have not been discovered yet.

A combination image from the Cassini orbiter shows a storm in Saturn's northern hemisphere.

The storm lasted for 200 days, making it the longest storm ever observed on Saturn.

Honey in space

And it's a good thing it sticks to its container, or it must be very difficult to wash out and catch honey around the ISS

White clouds in space

The white clouds on the left side of the image are part of the W3, W4, and W5 star-forming regions.

They are located 6,500 s.p.y. from the Sun. The thin red gas filaments are remnants of the ancient supernova HBH 3. The entanglements of luminous material represent gas that has been exposed to the shock wave from the supernova explosion.

The energy of the explosion ionized the molecules, causing them to emit in the infrared.

CD player on and off in zero gravity

It's all caused by the precession phenomenon of a gyroscope. As the disc inside is spinning, we see this kind of movement.

Is the speed of light really that fast?

A beam of light makes 7.5 revolutions per second around the Earth. Seems fast, let's zoom in.

It already takes 1.255 seconds to get to the Moon for this procedure. It took 3 minutes for the beam of light to travel from Earth to Mars.

Conclusion: the speed of light is not that fast, especially on the scale of the Universe.

The animation is modeled on real calculations of planetary motion

The Sun moves relative to the nearest stars (relative to the local rest standard) at a speed of 20 km/s.

Along with these stars the Sun moves around the center of the Galaxy in a nearly circular orbit at a speed of about 250 km/s and makes a complete revolution around it in about 230 million years.

This period of time is called a galactic year.
