Motherhood can reveal facets of yourself you never expected.
I never thought I could sing until my girls demanded singalongs in the car.
I thought my instrument was my body but it turns out I have an inner songstress!
And uncovering her has been a trip!
After a soul-baring voice lesson, I broke down in tears, crying to my inner siren “I’m trying so hard to meet you!”
But ‘you’ was me, the voice that sings my dancer to life that I haven’t felt safe enough to expose to the world.
She’s been trapped in my throat, underneath words I don’t say and emotions I choke down.
She’s been fighting to be heard, and I don’t know her!
My protector parts decided this dimension of myself was too much!
So I shut her down and doomed her to misery in my 5th chakra.
But now I’m setting her free, one chart-topping car ride at a time!
