I think you've heard of Volkswagen’s April Fools' joke. The guys decided to announce that they have a new name "Voltsvagen", which symbolizes the specialization in the production of electric vehicles.

At first glance, the idea seems fun. It reflects the general trend towards ecology and so on.

But the consequences are sad.

1. Volkswagen has a conflict with leading American TV channels.

2. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has started an investigation. They think the PR campaign may have influenced the automaker's share price.

Pretty much troubles after 1 little joke.

In general, the idea was nice. For a small startup or even a medium-sized company, most likely, there would be no problems. But if you are a large brand, then you cannot afford such liberties.
