2022-06-12 12:30:23 How I went from IELTS 6.0 to 8.0

Muhammaddiyor's success story in his own words

I started learning english in october 2020 and I was the laziest guy in my group (there ware 12 students).

I studied hard as I didn't have any talent for learning english. My parents and my friends were my motivators.

Firstly, my teacher helped my to improve my speaking until a certain point. Then my reading was awful, my comprehension was low because I didn't use to like reading books. For listening, I listened to musics and sang it together.

As time passed, my fellow students gave up learning english one by one and I was the only guy who didn't give up the ghost until achieving my purpose.

In the first attempt, a year ago in June, I got my 6.0 (speaking 6.5 writing 6.0. Listening 5.5 and my weak point reading was 5.0).

Then I studied in an intensive group of IELTS while teaching elementary students, then I got my 7.0 after 4 months ( listening and reading were 7.0s and my productive skills were 6.5s)

Then I started teaching IELTS with the help of my teachers and I could teach them until an IELTS group and my students got around 5.5s and 6.0s. I got my 8.0 band score without any teacher that's my writing is low.

Time to time I called my first teacher, as he is away, and asked some approach to improve my reading and writing skills then I shared it with my students as well.

However, I am still proud of my teacher because of his hardwork, effort and he helped me a lot by underestimating.

These things somehow encouraged me to study better and he still helps me to improve not only my teaching, but also my world-view as well.

Thanx my teacher so much ( by the way his name is Muhammadyusuf, the best english teacher ever with extra-ordinary IELTS score 7.5. but I am sure he can get 8.5 right now )

Here are his certificates

P.S. if you have a story similar to this (ielts 5 to 6, 6 to 7, 7 to 8), please leave it in the comments below and I will share it on this channel.

2022-06-11 07:48:37 Wooow that's amazing!

There are more than 18 developers on this channel. I thought there was not a single developer here.

I feel like I have an entire army of devs to help me out when I'm stuck on a bug (only coders understand this )

Thank you guys for being here!

2022-06-10 14:08:54 The latest IELTS statistics show that over 2.2 million IELTS tests are taken every year – a dramatic increase from the 43 000 IELTS tests taken many years ago in 1995. If we take the average cost of the test as US$200, IELTS candidates spend around US$440 million on taking the test each year! @emuallimm

2022-06-10 12:43:51 Me speaking English right before getting a 9.0 in IELTS Speaking in April, 2019.

To give you a little bit of context, I had joined a telegram group to build new habits and I sent this voice message to the creator of the group to explain my situation.

The reason why I'm sharing this is because I just want you to know that a band 9 in speaking was not what they call "an overnight success". It was just sort of a label that the examiner put on my English.

If you are aiming to get a 9 in speaking, your English, I mean general English, not some crazy, completely IELTS-obsessed, used-once-in-a-life-time, super-advanced English, but simple day-to-day English has to be already good.

P.S. I had a cold back then and that's why my voice sounds deep

2022-06-08 22:17:16 Journaling- How it Changed My Life

"If your life is worth living, its worth recording" This is one of my favorite quotes because it is so true. We experience so many great moments in life that if don't keep a record of them and review them every week, a few negative experiences tend to occupy our mind and make us feel like we're losing. Usually, we neglect the 10 good things that happened during the day and concentrate only 1 bad thing and say "it was a bad day for me" and I had same problem just a few years ago.

Before I got into journaling in 2015, I used to have a pretty negative mindset. Someone would say something slightly unpleasant and I would get angry to an extent where I would fight that person in my head all day long, thinking "if he says this, Im gonna say that and if he does this, I'm gonna do that" and i would go on and on and on.

I would even play a mental movie in my mind where I would show the guy who I really was, the bad guy! See, I used to expect bad thing to happen. As a result, I would feel totally miserable even when my playful, little, puppy was around wagging his tail. I was unable to see all the positive, due to a tiny, insignificant, negative event.

I can't say I got rid of all that negativity because we are humans and humans are all about emotions. Having said that I wanna point out that now, I'm 10 times more careful about my thoughts than before. I try to focus my attention on the bright side of life even though it gets very, very hard at times. How do I do that? I keep a record of all the small wins i have throughout my day such as making someone smile, helping someone, or accomplishing my daily goals. I read my small victories every weekend and it puts me back on track and helps me overcome whatever challenge I may currently have.

Also, I stay away from everything that is not positive such as horror movies, videos of people suffering from an injury, a car crash and all the bad news on TV. Instead, I learn from something that can help me change my life for the better such as a self-help book, motivational video or an audiobook.

As a result of this focus on the good, I have turned into a man who can make people smile in almost evey interaction and I just love to see people smile because when they smile, they are in their best state. Jim Carry once said "do you know what love about being a comedian? I get to see people in their best state!"

This is not the only thing I got from journaling. Journaling has many more benefits that might take forever to write about but I hope this alone will encourage you to start journaling and change your life for the better.

Good luck! @emuallimm
