2022-05-09 13:29:10 Paracas is a desert peninsula located in the province of Pisco on the southern coast of Peru.

It was here that the Peruvian archaeologist Julio Tello made a startling discovery in 1928: a huge, complex cemetery with tombs filled with the remains of people with the largest elongated skulls found anywhere in the world.

They became known as the Skulls of Paracas.
In all, Tello discovered more than 300 such elongated skulls, some of which are about 3,000 years old.

This photo, "Giant Women on the Road to Raarsu," was taken in 1897 by Dr. Hughets.

There are at least three tall women in the picture. The central one is 22 years old and is 230 cm tall. The lady on the right is over six feet tall.
