VK Cup: qualification stage
Today the private results for the qualification stage of the VK Cup competition were published. I am on 39 place with 0.983 points of score. It's not a very high position, but 256 people go to the next stage, so it's enough .
Task was to classify groups in VK into 13 classes by the texts of ten posts from this group. I tried to finetune Bert , but when I concatenated texts into one it became too long for Bert with limit of 512 token and leaded to truncation. I also tried to classify each post and then made a voting, but score was about 0.91
So, in the final solution I just used the good old tf-idf + svm with some text preprocessing and it gave me 0.983 points of score on the private leaderboard .
