On February 14, part of the collections of the oldest secular library in Russia burned down. The Library of the Academy of Sciences began to form in 1714 under Peter I. Academician Dmitry Likhachev comments on unique shots of the tragedy taken during and after the fire. The film calls for responsibility in the preservation of cultural heritage and historical evidence that may be irretrievably lost to future generations.
