Ex-president Donald Trump told Fox News on Tuesday that he hasn’t spoken with the current head of the White House, Joe Biden, as he doesn’t believe this could somehow help the country.

He stressed that the current administration has “a very different view” that “deserts the country, "which "is going to hell."

"No, I haven't spoken to him, no," Trump said in an interview. “Would I? You know, if I could help this country, I’d help the country."

After leaving office, Trump has remained in the political arena as an active supporter of the conservative agenda, promoting GOP candidates for various political positions and organizing rallies across the country. He hadn’t revealed yet whether he will run for president again in 2024, signaling that his main focus currently is on the 2022 midterm elections. Home buyers are seeing a break from rising mortgage rates as the bond market finds its equilibrium, but that doesn’t mean most Americans will save money when they purchase property.

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 2.98% for the week ending Nov. 10, down 11 basis points from the previous week, Freddie Mac reported Wednesday. A year ago, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was averaging 2.84%.

The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage, meanwhile, sank eight basis points to an average of 2.27%. The 5-year Treasury-indexed adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 2.53%, down one basis point from the previous week.

“Despite the re-acceleration of economic growth, the recent bond rally drove mortgage rates down for the second consecutive week,” Freddie Mac chief economist Sam Khater said in the report. “These low mortgage rates, combined with the tailwind of first-time homebuyers entering the market, means that purchase demand will remain strong into next year.” Открыть/Комментировать

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday has denied recent reports claiming that his administration was considering to compensate the illegal immigrants who were separated with their families after being apprehended with up to $450,000.

According to the report, the payouts could come close to $1 million per impacted family, with a total payout of more than $1 billion to roughly 5,500 children who were separated from their families after crossing the US border with Mexico.

The settlement discussions have been the subject of backlash with government lawyers viewing the payouts as excessive for people who broke the law by illegally crossing the US border. A team of researchers in Israel have pinpointed the proteins in COVID-19 that cause heart attacks and strokes, an accomplishment that the researchers hope will help spur the development of new drugs.

COVID-19, or SARS-CoV-2, is comprised of 29 proteins, of which five lead to vascular issues. To discover this, the researchers created a simulation of a human vascular system and observed the impact of all 29 proteins. From there, they were able to determine which proteins interacted with the vascular system and how.

"What we found is these specific proteins make your vasculature more leaky", Dr Ben Maoz of Tel Aviv University, said. "The tubes become more porous and cannot hold liquid as you would hope".
