Our second interview in the series is with Bulat Khalilov, a co-founder of Ored Recordings — a label that catalogs traditional music from Caucasus, Russia, and the world, seeking out folk artists and showcasing their work.
On 21 May, the label published an album with songs from the Russo-Circassian War called
«Jrpjej - After The War Comes Funeral». The songs on this album are war and mourning ballads of Circassians, who have largely suffered from Russian imperialism and lost their independence.
