Tesla is about to construct a new plant in Shanghai to double production capacity The company intends to start work on a new plant in Shanghai as early as next month amid a plan to increase its production capacity in China and also to meet the growing demand for electric cars.
Once the new plant is operating at full capacity, Tesla could
produce up to 2 million cars a year in Shanghai, becoming the company's main export hub.
