3 stone tablets found in the vicinity of the Romanian village | WORLD MUSEUMS & HISTORY

3 stone tablets found in the vicinity of the Romanian village of Tărtăria contain symbols that are now the oldest written language on the planet.

Initially, scientists assumed that the Tărtăria tablets date back to the third millennium BC, but a more thorough radiocarbon analysis revealed that the artifacts are much older.

Most archaeologists now agree that the tablets were created about 7,500 years ago, long before the Sumerian script, previously thought to be the oldest in the world.
