WHILST THE MUSLIM WORLD IS BURNING....
In Ramadan 1099, after the crusaders conquered Jerusalem and committed unspeakable atrocities upon the people (similar to what is happening in many countries today), Qadi al-Harawi of Damascus led a delegation to Baghdad, seat of the then Abbasid Caliphate.
It was Ramadan, yet the Qadi began eating publicly in the main mosque. Soon, an angry crowd surrounded him, and demanded an explanation.
He said "How is it that you feel so indignant at the violation of one fast, whereas the massacre of thousands of Muslims and the destruction of the holy places of Islam are met with complete indifference?”
Ibn al-Athir writes the speech led everyone to tears. Al-Harawi then burst with a loud cry into the spacious diwan of the caliph al-Mustazhir Billah, and cried, “How dare you slumber in the shade of complacent safety leading lives as frivolous as garden flowers, while your brothers in Shaam have no dwelling place save the saddles of camels and the bellies of vultures? Blood has been spilled! Beautiful young girls have been shamed, and must now hide their sweet faces in their hands! Shall the valorous Arabs resign themselves to insult?"
It was a speech that brought tears to many an eye and moved men's hearts. Arab chroniclers would later write that the entire audience broke out in wails and lamentations, but al-Harawi had not come to elicit sobs, he responded to the tears of the Caliph and his entourage:
'Man's weakest weapon', he shouted, 'is to shed tears when oppressors stir the coals of war.'
As the Muslims are being butchered and humiliated in Syria, Burma, Kashmir, China, Libya, France, India, Palestine etc, where are the Muslim military powers? Where are they?
Where's the mighty Pakistani nuclear nation, the technologically advanced Turks, and the cash-flushed Arabs? Having lavish iftaar parties and simply blowing hot air?
