There’s a wonderful Tulip Festival these days in Istanbul.
It is held every April, and the city parks, squares, gardens are amass with millions of tulips of every colour and shape.

The word “tulip” comes from a Persian word meaning “turban”.
There are over 3500 varieties of tulips.
Tulips follow the sun even when in a vase!
Tulips continue to grow after they’ve been cut.
At one point in history, tulips were the most expensive flowers.
Like many flowers, tulips are edible!
