While studying abroad provides an opportunity to broaden one's experience, it also presents the danger of negative influence from the host culture.
How far do you agree or disagree with the statement?Nowadays, pursuing higher education overseas is becoming more and more common. Certain individuals are in favor of this tendency due to enormous advantages while here can also be found people who warn about the distractors of studying abroad. Hence, this essay will focus on discussing this debate and reveal why I believe that students will gain more than they lose from foreign education. ( 63 )
On the one hand, those who argue about the distractions of foreign education have sensible evidence to support their claims. According to them, a nearly-arrived student on a foreign soil may face a range of hindrances such as cultural and social, which include language barrier, dress code, behaviour and others. In such a scenario, a new-comer's attempt to be in the same boat as the host country residents night shift their focus elsewhere other than education. Additionally, overseas-enrolled students are prone to changing their priority, which was originally obtaining education, to indulging oneself in earning money from short-term employment. For examle, the largest rate of drop-outs who became illegal workers belongs to the USA. ( 114 )
Turning to the opinions of the proponents of studying overseas, youth choose to study abroad for two main reasons. Firstly, they clearly enter the top universities of the world like Harvard MBA or Stanford business school and these institutions are not cheap meaning that they will study deligently. Also, becoming at least a top-watch manager of not a leader is promised upon graduation. Secondly, the majority of candidates commit to applying to foreign tertiary facilities owing to a lack of an institution specialised in their chosen major. To illustrate, sdudents in all Central Asian nations do not have a choise but to go abroad if they want to major in Aviation or plastic surgeoning fields. ( 115 )
To conclude, this essay shed light on the debate of whether it is beneficial to continue higher education abroad or not. In my firm belief, although there is some truth about the claim of distraction, being an international student allows youth to open new horizons for them and to study at elite facilities which are not exist in their hometown.
