I'm going to tell you about how i used to wanna be like my history history teacher when i was in high school
He was the type of teacher you wouldn't want to mess with as he really could do whatever he said he could. Also when he talked he was the center of attention while i was sort of the unfocused, social outcast type. i'll explain these more in detail
Even though he didn't really look very athletic or smart he was physically and mentally strong man who seem to love challenges.
One day he found out that one on my classmates one was one of the best ping pong players in school and he said "
let's make a bet if i beat you in ping pong you will organize a party for teachers"
Thinking that the match with this old man would be a piece of cake, my classmate agreed. The match was fierce and we were astonished by our teachers ping pong skills. He was so fast.
The next day, all the teachers enjoyed a little party in the teachers room organized by my classmate.
Later he could beat five guys in basketball single handedly and when he asked if there was anyone willing to challenge him in doing twenty pull ups no one agreed.
Reflecting back, I think what I most wish to inherit from him was his confidence to take on challenges and to be okay with being the center of attention. It seems like i always avoided taking on the challenges that could help me strengthen my self confidence.
I especially wished i had his athletic ability as i would like to do more physical activity. However as i've gotten older, i realized that we cannot compare ourselves to other people because we all have different strengths and weaknesses. Still I admire him for his abilities as well as self-confidence.
