Bálint Magyar, a Hungarian political scientist, is presenting his research on the evolution of post-communist regimes in the Freie Universität Berlin today. Years ago I was moderating the presentation of his then latest book on the anatomy of post-communist mafia state on Russian, in the Sakharov center in Moscow. Since then he's developed a whole new political regime classification system, which is something you don't see every day.
