Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of Russia, Executive Secretary of the EEF-2022 Organizing Committee, and Sergey Alexandrovsky, CEO of Aeroflot PJSC, met in Moscow. The parties discussed issues of strategic cooperation between the Roscongress Foundation and the airline within the framework of the largest Russian congress and exhibition events planned by the Foundation in the next calendar year, including the promotion of cooperation programs with the regions and support for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of PJSC Aeroflot.

In the summer season of 2022, the Aeroflot Group for the first time increased the number of Moscow-Vladivostok-Moscow flights to 5, and by the dates of the EEF-2022 – up to 6 flights per day.

For most large Asian countries, green finance markets are a serious tool for attracting investment. By the end of 2021, the Asia-Pacific region turned out to be the fastest growing in the sale of green bonds — 26% of the new global green debt. Recently, a new segment has been actively developing: carbon unit markets. Greenhouse gas emissions trading systems have appeared in South Korea, Japan, and China, while the Chinese system may become the largest in the world in the foreseeable future.

Russia’s low-carbon development strategy also includes markets for green finance and carbon credits as key components of the country’s energy transition.

2022-08-29 10:39:42 EEF to Host Naming Ceremony for Sovcomflot Group’s Okeansky Prospekt Tanker

The official ceremony to name the lead ship of a series of new generation large-tonnage Aframax oil tankers that primarily run on liquefied natural gas will take place on September 7.

The vessel is being built at Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex as part of the agreement that Sovcomflot signed with Rosneft Oil Company, Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex, and the VEB.RF Group at the 4th EEF in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The new vessel was designed in compliance with the strictest environmental safety standards and the conventional limits on emissions of sulphur oxides, nitrogen, and greenhouse gases that are in force in the basins of the Baltic and North Seas.

The tanker is 250 metres long and 44 metres wide, and has deadweight tonnage of 114,000 tonnes and ice class of 1A/1B.

The ship will be named after one of Vladivostok’s main streets, Okeansky Prospekt.

The VII Eastern Economic Forum, will become a platform for the events of Russia's Chairmanship in the Arctic Council in 2021-2023 and other Arctic-related sessions.

One of the key events on the EEF-2022 Arctic agenda will be the meeting of the Arctic Economic Council, which Russia also chairs in 2021-2023. The main areas of cooperation with partners from Asia, including in the development of transportation along the Northern Sea Route, energy and mining will be discussed at an expanded meeting of the Russian national part of AEC.

Arctic topics will also be represented by sessions of the Think Arctic - Think Global analytical project. "The Eastern dimension of international cooperation in the Arctic" session will be devoted to the relevance of building flexible formats of interaction in the region.

The session "Russia-India: The Fairway of joint development of the Arctic" will be devoted to the positioning and consideration of India's interests in this region, taking into account the great distance from the Arctic region.

The results of the two sessions will be part of an analytical report on international cooperation in the field of sustainable development of Russia with Arctic and non-Arctic states.
