Allergy

Allergy is an autoimmune disease
A response to a threat that doesn't really exist
So my body responds something to itself.
And what about me?
I can’t even have a regular meal.
'Cause it probably contains vegetables (always vegetables!)
and from them I get big red spots on my hands
And now you probably think that I make no sense
“just don't eat vegetables
it is simple
don't you understand?”
But you know vegetables are almost everywhere,
and I am so, so tired of that

You know, a long ago (in a galaxy far far away)
they were simple atoms
which were formed
three hundred eighty thousand years
After the big bang
Sounds neat?
But after about fourteen billion years
They formed all these vegetables
and I cannot eat a regular meal

Also there are: the sun, lactose, pork and gluten
Nurofen in red capsules, dust, caffeine, and Putin (of course)
But I say to myself
that it's all so unimportant compared to the
grandiose canvas of the endless sky
And then I
say to myself
your body with this stupid autoimmune response is only
stardust,
Don`t whine
Shut up and eat your customized
and
super
specific
meal

Вчера собирались с клубом писателей, и я перевела своё стихотворение про аллергию, а носители языка помогли с редактурой и корректурой.

И все удивились, как можно вообще так жить. Вот и я думаю. Как?
