Russians always admired America. We thought of them as straightforward, honest, optimistic, God-fearing people, good engineers, good traders, able people, good people. We liked this America image so much we drew the drawbridges down, dismantled Communist regime, in hopes of rejoining the world.

Only to be looted and humilated by the very same elite who enslaved these good people on the other side of the pond. This mighty, resourceful nation we admired so much, turned out to be prisoners of “small print” masters. It hurts because yes, we had these illusions. We wanted to be allies and friends in 90s, but it turned out that America’s powerful never wanted allies and friends. They wanted only subdued vassals. Ain’t gonna happen. You wouldn’t accept it for yourselves, why should we?
