Load distribution on the rope
The video shows how to tie the knot Austrian conductor, also called "butterfly". This knot is widely used in mountaineering, for self belaying and for securing the middle member in a bundle. The Austrian guide is designed to be tied in the middle of the rope. The knot allows to exclude the damaged part of the rope from the load in an emergency situation.
