Signs of emotional deficits
Emotional hunger is a heavy, debilitating feeling of dissatisfaction that is difficult to cope with independently and adaptively. Intuitively, the following methods are used to compensate for emotions:
Binge eating - that variant where psychological problems provoke constant physical hunger or the need to derive pleasure through eating in order to satiate;
Workaholic - immersion in work;
A toxic surrounding as a source of negative emotions;
Shopaholics - frequent and aimless shopping;
Manipulation ( violent) over a partner;
Social media/gambling - exorbitant preoccupation with the virtual world;
We can also add
addictions of all kinds.
The consequences of emotional hunger depend on which of the compensations a person has gone into to satisfy the need.
