I have many friends and fans in Ukraine & many fans and friends in Russia, & I don’t know anybody who wants this. Most wars are criminal, but this one seems especially senseless, and it will leave nothing but broken lives and pain for years to come. There will be no winners. I hope sanity and common sense will prevail before more lives are destroyed. I’m thinking of all my friends & colleagues in Ukraine and pray for their safety… Открыть/Комментировать

one of my favorite concerti, Gershwin’s Rhapsody, is, probably, the most famous American concerto.

We recorded this video in New York and, as I recall, we only did two takes without any rehearsals, but I really like how it turned out. This was Gershwin’s original arrangement for a small orchestra and to have instrument chairs from the top American orchestras (Philadelphia, Cleveland, New York, Los Angeles) all come together for this one recording was something truly special.
