Russia has dealt Ukraine an insurmountable number of leg kicks and a few big punches to the kidney throughout the fight. Now comes the final combo to the head for a clean knockout.
Ukraine supporters, who spent all of their monthly allowance betting on Ukraine to win the title belt, are now in a frenzy. They have a thousand and one excuses for why their fighter lost: corrupt refs, bad training camp, faulty equipment, fixed fight, opponent on performance enhancing drugs etc.
But in the end, they now know they bet on the losing fighter. So where does that leave them?
Despair? Yes. Embarrassment? Yes. Hopelessness? Yes. Death & destruction? Yes. A new worldview that was beaten into rationality by their opponent? No.
No, now like an addicted gambler who refuses to accept their opponent’s immovable & unshakable power, they take to the betting windows once more to stake their odds on another, even less worthy fighter to defeat the dreaded champion.
They will walk with their tail between their legs to mom & dad, and ask for an advance on their allowance to place a new wager on Georgia — who they are convinced, will finally defeat the almighty Russia.
