South Africa Reports First #Covid Vaccine Related Death
South Africa's health agency reported a link between the death of an individual and Johnson & Johnson's Covid vaccine on Thursday in the country’s first “casual” link between the two
The person developed the rare neurological disorder Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) soon after being given the jab, and later died. J&J insisted GBS arise from Covid itself or other vaccines; last year the EMA added it as a possible side effect of AstraZeneca’s vaccine.
About 46% of South Africa’s 40mn population is fully vaccinated.
