A Chinese woman has grown 20-centimeter lashes and broke the world record she set earlier. On May 20, 2021 Guinness Book of Records specialists measured the lashes of Yu Jianxia and fixed a new world record. On average, the length of her eyelashes was 20 centimeters, but the longest eyelash on the upper eyelid of the left eye was 20.5 centimeters long.
In 2016, a Chinese woman entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the first time as the owner of the longest lashes in the world. At the time, they were more than 12 centimeters long. "I realized that my eyelashes were constantly growing, in 2015. They were gradually getting longer and longer. I went to doctors to find out why my lashes were longer than other people's. They couldn't explain it and were amazed," Jianxia said. She added that she never uses mascara or eyeliner - her long lashes make her eyes look spectacular even without makeup.
Yu tried to find a scientific explanation for what was happening and looked for a reason in genetics. But none of her relatives have such long eyelashes. Then Jianxia reasoned that her peculiarity was a gift from Buddha.
