Google Phone app is rolling out an Audio Emoji feature.
This feature allows you to press one of the emoji ( , , , , , ) during the call to play the corresponding sounds for the person you're calling. At the same time the animation corresponding to the emotion will also be played on the screen.
The function can be accessed using the button above the toolbar of the call screen. It can be turned off in Settings / Audio Emoji.
The development of such a feature was first reported in September by AssembleDebug, at that time the feature was called Sound Reaction.
