​​Dear Parents,

We are pleased to announce our new Head of Secondary from 2022-2023 academic year – Ms Kim Barber.
Please find the welcome message from Ms Kim below:

«Hello Everyone.

I am very much looking forward to joining CIS Tashkent.

Originally from the United Kingdom, I gained my BA from University College London and then my PGCSE from the University of Hull. For one year of my degree I studied in Warsaw, Poland. My intention was always to work internationally, experiencing and sharing different traditions and cultures from within.

I have worked in teaching both in the UK and internationally for the last 18 years. I moved very quickly into leadership roles and have been a member of a Senior Leadership Team or a training manager for over 10 years. I have lived and worked in Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia. The latter of which I have lived in for the last seven years.

I push all learners to try new things, take on challenges and go further than they ever thought that they could. I facilitate students to get involved in competitions, lectures, events and presentations across lots of disciplines. Having had the privilege to work for school groups I encourage inter school collaboration within the group as well as the local community.

I am someone that wants all of her learners to reach their potential, think critically and creatively, and be lifelong learners with the holistic educational base and tool kit of soft skills to support academic achievement»
