Ronin Bridge was hacked by North Korean hackers

According to the U.S. Treasury Department and analyst firm Chainalysis, the North Korean hacker group Lazarus Group is linked to the largest hack in the history of the crypto industry.

The U.S. Treasury Department and the FBI are working together to catch the criminals who hacked into the Ronin Bridge and stole more than $615 million in cryptocurrency.

The Lazarus Group and APT38 hacking organizations were behind the heist, according to an FBI statement. The bureau added that these crimes generate revenue for the North Korean regime.

The attackers used a transaction anonymization service, the Tornado Cash Ethereum cryptocurrency mixer.
To cover their tracks, they transferred up to 28,000 ETH through it.

Lazarus Group gained notoriety in 2014 when it was accused of hacking Sony Pictures Entertainment.
